Job description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and professional team player with an excellent command of English and Chinese (written and spoken), with German as a strong asset, as well as experiences working in fields such as Project Management, International Relations, Public Policy or Business Consulting.

The main task of the position is to support The Industrie 4.0 Learning Platform Project (LP4.0) as well as the “Future of Work”- related topics under the Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Project. The successful candidate will support a range of project management, private and public sector cooperation as well as partner management duties under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager. These include project development and management, partner development and network building as well as planning and moderate project activities in close collaboration with government, academia and companies.

The LP4.0 Project, based in Beijing, offers a Project Coordinator position for a period starting as soon as possible until 30 June 2023. The position requires pro-active and professional communication with Chinese and German government institutions, industry associations and enterprises within the framework of the LP4.0 project as well as the political dialogue under the Sino-German industrie 4.0 Project.

Your tasks:

Project Management

  • Supports the project manager in the design, conceptualisation and management of the project.
  • Coordinates the various topics under the theme: “Future of Work”, which include, in addition to the LP4.0 project, the Sino-German Company Expert Group on “Future of Work”.
  • Designs and implements the project Operational Plan, Partner Communication strategy and performance monitoring tools.
  • Coordinates the collection and structuring of the project-related documents for reporting and knowledge development purposes.
  • Develops ideas and concept for project expansion / scale-up as well as the acquisition of new projects.

Partner Management

  • Identifies stakeholders based on project needs; develops and maintains good partner network to maximise project supports.
  • Networks and communicates strategically with existing partners on project development, change management as well as manages partner feedback loops.
  • Designs and moderate discussions amongst / with partners and experts during workshops.

Project Reporting & Communication

  • Coordinates and monitors the Project Progress Reporting process as well as plans for the Mid-term Project Progress Review.
  • Responsible for information collection and documentation to fulfil BMZ’s and GIZ’s reporting requirements.
  • Represents the project as Industrie 4.0 “Future of Work” knowledge hub for internal and external communication.

Project-related Supports:

  • Designs, plans and implements events and project activities.
  • Represents the project for external events and overarching internal activities.
  • Performs other duties and task at the request of management.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields, e.g. Business Administration, Project Management, Training and Education, Public Policy and International Relations;
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the private sector, government or international organisation; experiences in private sector cooperation and/or business consultancy are considered a strong asset;
  • Experienced in implementing cooperation project(s) with the private sector and working in a multi-stakeholder project environment;
  • Familiar with Project Management concept, methodologies, and tools;
  • Able to work flexibly and perform in a fast-changing project environment; inquisitive and willing to take on new challenges;
  • High level of attention to details;
  • Fluency in Chinese, English (written and spoken) is required; Proficiency in German considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent command of IT and communication technologies and relevant computer applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is considered a strong asset;
  • High work ethics, reliable and motivated, able to handle multiple simultaneous assignments with competing priorities, under the condition of tight time schedules and fixed deadlines.
