About this job:

The GIZ office coordinates our engagement in China and provides administrative and commercial services for our projects/teams/clusters.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant for our GIZ office in Beijing as soon as possible. The jobholder will mainly be responsible for:

  • Cash and Liquidity Management
  • Performing internal controls
  • Other financial tasks

 

Your tasks

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for a variety of exciting finance-related tasks.

These include:

Cash and Liquidity Management

  • Independent management of the cash and bank books
  • Deposits and withdrawals in CNY and EUR
  • Relationship management and correspondence with our commercial banks, including handling all banking transactions
  • Self-responsible management of our letters of credit and company accounts in close consultation between the Head of Finance and Administration and the Head Office in Germany
  • Independent planning of funds requirements on a monthly basis
  • Interface management between cash office and accounting

 

Implementation of internal controls

  • Checking of received vouchers according to the company’s rules and regulations
  • Carrying out on-site audits at our projects in Beijing
  • Advising the projects on issues related to internal audits
  • Evaluating the audit results and deriving needs for action

 

Other tasks in the financial area

  • Self-responsible accounting of contracts and travel expenses
  • Independent registration and maintenance of the office inventory at our locations
  • Supporting the team leader in day-to-day business
  • Participation in the conception and implementation of internal trainings
  • Assumption of tasks for the company management if required
Requirement:

Your profile

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in German language studies, finance, economics, international relations or business administration
  • working or internship experience in accounting, administrative and commercial processes is a plus
  • Chinese as mother tongue, very good German and English skills
  • Excellent handling of common Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • High degree of initiative and willingness to learn, excellent self-organization, analytical skills, integrity and loyalty as well as very good communication and team skills
