About this job:

The Sino-German Quality Infrastructure Project based in Beijing offers a position as Project Manager starting at the earliest date possible. The successful applicant will be responsible for strategic advisory to the political dialogue as well as the conceptual planning and result-oriented implementation of cooperation activities. The position requires pro-active and professional communication with Chinese and German government institutions as well as relevant industry associations and enterprises within the framework of the political dialogue.

Political Advisory, Partner Management and Networking

  • Supporting the development of a strategic approach for bilateral cooperation on specific QI areas and topics; advisory to all stakeholders of the political dialogue and the wider bilateral cooperation framework;
  • Technical and organisational support for the political dialogue and related cooperation activities of government and private sector partners;
  • Active monitoring of partner networks, identification and development of new partner relations.

Conceptual Planning and Implementation

  • Identifying and analysing important new topics and developments in the sector and conceptualising related activities;
  • Planning and managing the implementation of cooperation activities and the involvement of all public and private sector stakeholders.

Process Design and Project Development

  • Developing new cooperation projects and supporting the bilateral cooperation by designing and facilitating dialogue processes and activities in coordination with all relevant stakeholders

Reporting

  • Reporting important developments and the overall implementation status of the project to our commissioner as well as to relevant stakeholders.

Knowledge management

  • Supporting innovation and knowledge management in the project as well as the project documentation in form of progress reports and other project documents according to GIZ and its commissioner’s requirements.
Requirement:
  • Masters or doctorate in an area related to the project’s topics, e.g. economics, international relations, business administration, public policy, engineering, etc.;
  • 5-7 years professional experience in the private sector or government, with at least 3 years professional experience in a comparable position; extensive experience in government relations and/or business relations respectively is considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills; efficient, accurate and high-quality delivery of all work-related output;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good sense of humour
  • Fluency in Chinese and English (written and spoken), German skills are considered advantageous;
  • Very good working knowledge of IT and communication technologies and relevant computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
  • High work ethics, reliable and motivated, able to handle multiple simultaneous assignments with competing priorities, under the condition of tight time schedules and fixed deadlines.
