Das Leistungsprofil der GIZ wird dabei kontinuierlich an die Kooperationsbedarfe beider Länder im Rahmen der „Umfassenden Deutsch-Chinesischen Strategischen Partnerschaft“ sowie an die dynamischen Veränderungsprozesse im Rahmen der chinesischen Reformpolitik angepasst. Weiterhin berät und arbeitet sie als Dienstleister an der Schnittstelle zwischen Politik und Wirtschaft. Die GIZ agiert zudem in Handlungsfeldern, in denen deutsche Akteure über ein fundiertes Profil und Wettbewerbsvorteile verfügen und deutsche Expertise nachgefragt wird.

In Short

We are looking for a motivated team player with a native level of Chinese and very good English and/or German (written and spoken) and a high interest in international communication, translation, as well as the Sino-German Political Dialogue in the area of Industrie 4.0 (工业4.0).

The young professional will be supporting the team in Beijing in the day-to-day project work, e.g. communication with German and Chinese stakeholders, research and translation services in the area of technology innovation and government policy initiatives as well as the field of digital business models. He/she will get opportunities to be involved in a variety of project activities with German and Chinese government officials, companies and experts up to the vice minister level. The work will require great attention to detail and well-developed writing, research skills and translation skills. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and flexibly.

Our project provides insights into the ongoing Sino-German political cooperation as well as the latest technological trends and private sector developments on Industrie 4.0 (工业4.0). Previous work experience in the fields of translation, interpretation and intercultural communication are considered an asset.

The Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Project (中德工业4.0项目)

As an instrument of bilateral cooperation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ, 德国国际合作机构) GmbH acts on behalf of the German government and in the interests of both Germany and China. We provide a platform for dialogue and cooperation as well as policy advice to both governments. In doing this, our work strongly supports China’s reform processes to build a sustainable balance between economic growth, social equality and environmental protection.

Since July 2015, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi, 德国联邦经济与能源部) and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT, 中国工业和信息化部) have been facilitating the cooperation between German and Chinese companies in sectors relevant to Industrie 4.0. In this regard, the Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Project, implemented by GIZ, supports this cooperation as the official liaison office in Beijing. Main partners to the project include ministries and government authorities in both countries, especially BMWi and the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID, 中国电子信息产业发展研究院/赛迪研究院) as well as private sector institutions such as trade associations, research institutes and companies.

Task Profile

The successful applicant will work in an international team supporting a wide range of project activities, such as:

  • Drafting and translation of documents in Chinese, English and/or German for Industrie 4.0 related studies and official communications
  • Preparing documents for the selection and showcasing of innovative Sino-German Industrie 4.0 Technology Cooperation projects
  • Monitoring and reporting on current developments of German and Chinese industry positions, activities and government policies relating to Industrie 4.0
  • Administrative and general support for project activities (e.g. database maintenance, event organisation, travel arrangements for political delegations).
Requirement:

Requirements:

  • Currently studying (preferably at master degree level) public policy, international business, German and or English studies, or other relevant fields;
  • Native-level Chinese (written and spoken), fluency in English and/or German (written and spoken);
  • Previous work experiences in communication or translation are an asset;
  • Strong interest in the project’s topics including: industry policy, new technology, economy and/or international relations;
  • Excellent command of relevant computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
  • Able to work independently, excellent organisational skills; efficient, accurate and high-quality delivery of all work-related output;
  • Excellent intercultural social skills and a team player. Good sense of humour
