Project: Strategic Alliance Improving Neonatal Care in China (INCiC)”

The Project “Improving Neonatal Care in China (INCiC)” is a Strategic Alliance implemented by GIZ in China supported by the German Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) under the framework of the program.

The overarching goal of the INCiC project is the sustainable transfer of knowledge about modern care for newborn and premature infants by carrying out trainings and trainings-for-trainers for Chinese doctors with German experts in the area of neonatology. Further components of the project include the establishment pilot hospitals as training centers to promote the spread of capacity building measurements to a grassroots level, the establishment of networks linking hospitals and universities to promote joint learning and educational programmes, and the engagement of relevant authorities and other stakeholders to ensure sustainability of the measures.

Implementation partners of the INCiC project are the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as public partner and Fritz Stephan GmbH, Goodwill Medical Inc., Goodwill Information Technology Inc., Children’s Hospital of Fudan University Shanghai and SIMCharacters GmbH as private partners. was set up by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to foster the involvement of the private sector at the point where business opportunities and development policy initiatives intersect. It provides companies investing in developing and emerging countries with financial and professional support. BMZ has appointed GIZ as one of three public partners to implement on its behalf.


In the framework of your internship you will support the team in current project activities in the areas of neonatal care and related fields. Amongst others, you will support the project team with the following tasks:

  • Supporting the implementation of project activities (e.g. training events);
  • Supporting project management in planning and designing project activities;
  • Supporting daily operational and administrative work;
  • Carrying out targeted research and draft information briefs accordingly;
  • Supporting public relations and drafting of information materials in the project.


You will work in an international team and support our activities with the partners of the project.


The ideal candidate

  • Is studying a major related to the project topics in higher semesters (from the 5th semester onwards) or has completed such studies;
  • Has initial knowledge of the topics of the project;
  • Has already gained work experience in relevant areas;
  • Has gained international experience, e.g. by studying or working abroad;
  • Native Chinese with excellent English language skills, knowledge of German is a strong plus
  • Is a strong team player and shows distinct social and intercultural competence;
  • Is able to work independently on multiple tasks simultaneously and under time pressure;
  • Has good MS Office knowledge.
