Das Leistungsprofil der GIZ wird dabei kontinuierlich an die Kooperationsbedarfe beider Länder im Rahmen der „Umfassenden Deutsch-Chinesischen Strategischen Partnerschaft“ sowie an die dynamischen Veränderungsprozesse im Rahmen der chinesischen Reformpolitik angepasst. Weiterhin berät und arbeitet sie als Dienstleister an der Schnittstelle zwischen Politik und Wirtschaft. Die GIZ agiert zudem in Handlungsfeldern, in denen deutsche Akteure über ein fundiertes Profil und Wettbewerbsvorteile verfügen und deutsche Expertise nachgefragt wird.

About this job:

With over 30 years of experience implementing projects in the People’s Republic of China, GIZ provides policy advice on topics and sectors relating to China’s reform process, including: sustainable economic development (especially renewable energies and energy efficiency), urban development, and transport development. GIZ works as both adviser and service provider at the interface between the economic and political spheres. GIZ is also active in those fields in which German actors possess in-depth profiles and competitive advantages, and where German expertise is in high demand.

In the area of Sustainable Mobility, Energy and Infrastructure, GIZ in China works on a broad range of topics relating to sustainable and low carbon development, such as low carbon transport, integrated transport solutions, electro-mobility, renewable energies, energy efficiency, waste management, and infrastructure financing.

Communications

  • Support the cluster communication specialist in developing communication strategies and concepts
  • Content Management and maintenance of the project online communication channels (websites & social media platforms)- Administration/updates of project websites and the social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation of online communication outreach through tracking tools
  • Creating, translating, proofreading & editing communication materials, including articles for website & social media platforms, newsletter, policy briefings, publications etc.
  • Support in improving the visual presentation (graphic design, layout etc.) of communication products
  • Management and maintenance of the communication-related databases (incl. contacts, media, photostock etc.)
  • Administrative and organizational support of communication-related project events

Portfolio Management

  • Support the Cluster Portfolio Manager in all tasks relevant in the commissioning process of projects
  • Research relevant energy and transport policies, with a focus on the areas of sustainable transport, transport revolution, electro-mobility, future mobility, energy transition, energy efficiency, renewable energies, waste management and infrastructure financing
  • Support the quality assurance of internal and external documents
  • Support the preparation and implementation of project-related events, trainings and delegation visits
  • Organize cluster internal events and trainings
Requirement:
  • Master/Bachelor student with strong academic background or previous experience in one of each categories: communication, public relations, journalism, or graphic design AND Chinese studies, international relations, politics, economics, transport-, finance- or energy-related fields
  • Excellent English (written and spoken), Chinese and German language skills would be a plus
  • Knowledge and working experience in strategic communications and new media
  • Competent skill and experience in graphic design (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Experience in Content Management System (Wordpress, Typo3 etc.) and social media management
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and to comply with deadlines
  • Creative and communicative personality & good team player

We pay a monthly stipend. Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
