Synex Group China operates currently with 23 Chinese employees and 2 foreigners in 3 sourcing offices (Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou). The main products are currently catering products, power/garden tools, welding machines and there are also developed new brands and product ranges.

About this job:

In order to continue the very fast development of our company we are searching a General Manager (foreign passport holder) for Synex Group China who will be based in our Guangzhou-office (district Panyu) or in our Shanghai-office.

  • The main responsibilities are developing new suppliers and new products with CE certificates, order handling with shipment on time and quality control.
  • Manage the continuous organizational development of the 3 offices in China, lead and motivate our Chinese employees
  • Take full responsibility for P&L and the costs of the China business and reporting to Group Board in Germany
  • Introduction of SAP in China
Requirement:

Applicants selected for interview should be confident in their capacity to demonstrate:

  • At least 3 years work experience as GM/COO in a China sourcing office leading Chinese teams efficiently
  • A proven track record of driving growth and profitability in former companies
  • Very good experience in purchasing, supply chain (including order management) and quality control
  • Excellent negotiation skills to discuss with Chinese suppliers about best business terms such as price, MOQ, payment term, OEM requirements, warranty time and secure shipment on time
  • Strong intercultural coaching skills to highly motivate our Chinese team
  • Be able to be the leader and pacemaker of the 3 sourcing offices in a very fast-growing e-commerce company
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set and potential to grow further
  • Pioneering spirit and results-driven with strong drive, energy and hands-on mentality
  • Problem-solver with pro-active working attitude, initiative and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to travel all over China to regularly visit suppliers and our offices
  • The candidate should preferably hold a degree in business administration or another relevant diploma
  • Very good oral and written English skills;  knowledge of oral and written Chinese or German is a preferential factor
