About Company:

Our Client is the sourcing office of a German Group in Mainland China. Its key responsibility is to support the scouting, sourcing, quality assurance as well as the corresponding logistics for products sourced in China. Besides the office in Shanghai, our Client operates an additional sourcing office in Hong Kong SAR and a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Our Client is sourcing a comprehensive range of DIY products, which represents the major part of the key product groups of the DIY business:

  • DIY & garden power tools and corresponding accessories
  • DIY & garden hand-tools
  • Hand Tools
  • Wooden connectors
  • Car/Bicycle accessories
  • etc.


About this job:

Target: Lead sourcing activities of responsible division to ensure all practices are in compliance with company policies and processes; define strategies and approaches to achieve sourcing goals set out and agreed of the year



  • Support top management to develop sourcing strategy for responsible product division
  • Drive the supplier chain management analysis and optimize the supplier structure, as well as a price structure
  • Manage sourcing business of the division, such as product development, buying trip arrangement, PLR shows preparation and Fair, business reporting, etc
  • Monitor key sourcing projects, incl. project execution, sourcing activities and order following-up by subordinates, major claim settlement, etc
  • Ensure the execution of company sourcing procedures, and seek opportunities for improvement
  • Supplier strategy management, developing and maintaining a qualified supplier system for sourcing activities, including supplier screen, coach, and evaluation
  • Key supplier negotiation on price, quality, claims, etc., sourcing budget control and cost down, etc
  • Responsible for department management, such as communication, evaluation, coaching, developing, and motivating subordinates
  • Ensure company strategy been delivered from up to down, continuous learning and coaching of product knowledge, market practice, quality standards, and so on


Travel Frequency:

70%-80% Office work + 20%-30% business travel within Asia and globally


  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • Over 10 years of merchandising/sourcing experience and over 5 years on a manager level
  • Strong knowledge of exporting, DIY products, and European standard
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Strong leadership and team management
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Could afford working pressure, good team player
  • Strong command of English
  • Good at MS office and ERP skills
