About our Client

Our client BOMAG is a German company and a global market leader in compaction technology and manufactures soil, asphalt and refuse compaction equipment, as well as stabilizers and recyclers. Since 2005, BOMAG is part of the Fayat Group.

To further strengthen its strongly growing activities in China, our client is searching for a highly-qualified and experienced “General Manager Sales China for immediate assignment. The position is located in Shanghai, but will be moved to Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, end of 2019.

 

Job Description

The General Manager Sales China is required to provide operational and strategic leadership to secure the profitable growth of the Sales Department of the business unit in China following corporate guidelines. He/ she will report directly to the BOMAG China SVP APAC.

Role and Responsibility

  • Manage the company’s sales department in accordance with BOMAG China SVP APAC’s leadership principles
  • Meet financial and operating targets as laid out in the annual profit and marketing plans
  • Implement actions necessary in accordance with the BOMAG China SCP APAC and BU strategic plan
  • Guarantee the correct development of all activities connected with company’s plans, activating different functions and balancing the activities
  • Ensure the availability of the necessary resources for the operation of the company’s functions according to budget
  • Define and maintain an efficient organized structure and assure management continuity of the Sales Department
  • Supply input in the human resource management of the Sales Department (selection, training and development, compensation, etc.) in collaboration with the managers of the areas, and guarantee the productivity of the workforce
  • Conduct market analysis in support of BU strategic development process in order to guarantee the short, medium and long-term goals to assure the company’s success
  • Monitor competitor strategies and implement appropriate sales and marketing responses
  • Keep BOMAG China SVP APAC fully advised of the financial and operating details in accordance with corporate reporting procedures
Requirement:

The Successful Applicant

  • Age: 40-50 years old
  • Nationality: Chinese or Foreign nationals accepted
  • Education:
    • University degree, preferably in Business or related fields
    • Additional technical education qualifications are highly beneficial
  • More than 10 years of work experience in leading sales management position in construction and/or engineering industry
  • Preferred prior experience as Sales Director or Sales VP/GM in engineering and/ or construction related business in China
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate team with a good leadership track record
  • Experienced in working for Western companies and understanding of “Western mindset”
  • Perfecty fluent in both Mandarin Chinese as well as English
  • Willingness to travel
