About our client

Our client is a German-based company active in the planning and construction of industrial feeding systems and breeding equipment with a presence in over 100 countries. The company’s business consists of different segments, covering egg production, poultry growing, pig production and fully integrated turnkey solutions for farm buildings. The goal is to offer products and solutions that help to produce high-protein food commercially, with automation and cost-conscious management as prerequisites for economical work.

With almost 3,000 employees worldwide, our client reached turnover of EUR 1 bln. in 2016. In order for them to maintain steady growth in the Chinese market, they are now looking for a China Finance Director. The position is located at their Headquarters in Beijing.

Job Description

The main tasks & responsibilities of the Finance Director will include:

  • Lead, direct and control Company’s financial resources to maintain the short and long-term financial health of business.
  • Define and put in place financial standards, policies, procedures and measures to meet company’s short and long-term business objectives.
  • Ensure all the financial transactions are conducted with regulations, accounting principles and standards. The activities include but not limited to financial analysis and planning, reporting, accounting, credit control, cash flow, investment management, taxation, insurance, treasury, internal audit, budgeting & forecasting, cost control and foreign exchange.
  • Contribute to business strategic planning and decision-making. Advise Senior Management on financial matters (and legal matters) as well as on the potential impact of current and future laws/regulations to the business operations to minimize the potential risk.
  • Closely monitor the business performance (KPIs) and conduct variance analysis. Propose measures for closing the gap where necessary.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice on financial issues to business and functional managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports and manage their financial responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and lead business activities and transactions such as acquisitions, investments, capital expenditure, divestitures, mergers or the sales of assets to ensure they are financially viable.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationship with banks, insurance brokers, taxation authorities etc. Liaise with banks to work on hedging strategies and financing concepts for customers.
  • Any other relevant duties assigned by company as required

The Successful Applicant

In line with the strategy of our client, we are seeking an outstanding candidate with the following characteristics:

  • Education background: bachelor or above degree in finance or accounting, MBA is a plus
  • 15+ years finance working experience in multinational companies and among which at least 8 years in a Management role
  • Familiar with Chinese GAAP, familiar with ERP system
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to evaluate, analysis and resolve complex problems
  • Strategic thinking and able to execute in detail
  • Commitment to achieve business objectives.

  • Partnership skill - must be able to partner with different business owners to drive the achievement of business objectives
  • Positive attitude and can influence others with inspiring tone
  • Good command of English
