About our client

Our client is a German-based company active in the planning and construction of industrial feeding systems and breeding equipment with a presence in over 100 countries. The company’s business consists of different segments, covering egg production, poultry growing, pig production and fully integrated turnkey solutions for farm buildings. The goal is to offer products and solutions that help to produce high-protein food commercially, with automation and cost-conscious management as prerequisites for economical work.
With almost 3,000 employees worldwide, our client reached turnover of EUR 1 bln. in 2016. In order for them to maintain steady growth in the Chinese market, they are now looking for a new Chief Financial Officer. The position is located at their Headquarters in Beijing.

The main tasks & responsibilities of the CFO will include:

  • Work closely with and report directly to the China President, supporting him in all organizational and processual topics
  • Identification of potential weak spots and improvement areas, as well as creation of value-add (cost savings, increased turnover, etc.)
  • Responsible for all administrative and financial activities within the Region and for all respective legal entities belonging to the reporting circle
  • Head the departments within the realm of responsibility within a global matrix organization
  • Make sure that the global finance & controlling strategy, group standards for reporting and business processes will be implemented, adopted to regional requirements if necessary and followed-up
  • Provide financial information, management reports to the Head of F&C, Group Controlling per Business Unit and Functional Divisions (legal entity and cost center reporting) as well as to the Management Team of the Region
  • Regularly meet with the Managing Directors and financial staff of all legal entities of the Region to discuss performance and project issues
  • Head the development of annual budgets for the Region
  • Analyze financial information and key performance indicators in order to control the Budget and provide proposals for improvements and cost savings
  • Supervise expenditures for capital investments of the Region
  • Prepare finance and liquidity plans and guarantee the solvency of the legal entities of the Region
  • Manage foreign exchange rate risks and treasury
  • Prepare the legal financial accounting and annual accounts
  • Prepare tax reporting and supervise all legal & tax requirements
  • Closely interact with government agencies, tax authorities, auditors and other parties of the region to ensure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Support M&A projects and integration of new business activities

In line with the strategy of our client, we are seeking an outstanding candidate with the following characteristics:

  • Experienced professional with a degree in Business Administration and/ or Finance and Controlling
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior management of Finance and Controlling
  • Working experience in one or more countries of the Region
  • Tenure in a multinational group of industrial/ producing companies with complex or advanced management structures
  • Good leadership potential in combination with „hands-on“-mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships at various levels
  • Analytical mind set to develop strategies and visions
  • Good working knowledge of modern IT and BI technology, as well as required ERP business software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German and/ or Chinese knowledge would be beneficial (preferably a European national)
  • Willingness to relocate to/ live in Beijing
